Hey Reader
Most creators think they know what’s holding them back… but what if the real problem isn’t what you think?
In this issue, we unpack a shift in thinking that changes everything once you see it - and why so many channels quietly stall without ever realizing why.
This week’s podcast
Why Most YouTube Channels Stall - And How to Break Through with Liz Germain - EP15
Most creators hit a ceiling - and they never break through it. Not because they’re not working hard… but because they’re solving the wrong problem.
In this episode, Liz Germain breaks down what’s actually going on beneath the surface - and why the fix is simpler (and harder) than you think.
- The hidden reason most channels plateau without warning
- Why chasing more views is quietly making things worse
- The one decision that determines your entire channel strategy
- What almost every creator completely ignores inside their analytics
- The real skill gap separating stalled channels from breakout growth
If you want to understand what’s really holding your channel back, you’ll want to watch this one.

Did you know?
Most creators focus on views and subscribers… but according to Liz, those are just outcomes - not the actual problem.
The real leverage comes from two areas: ideation and analytics.
First, ideation. This is about consistently coming up with content ideas that are highly relevant to the specific viewer you want to attract. If your ideas don’t resonate, nothing else matters - no amount of posting or optimization will fix that.
Second, analytics. This is where most creators fall short. Liz points out that the vast majority barely look at their data. Metrics like click-through rate, retention, and traffic sources tell you exactly what’s working - but only if you use them.
The key is to treat every video as an experiment. Publish, measure what happened, then adjust. Small improvements in these areas compound over time and lead to exponential growth.
If you focus on improving your ideas and actually using your analytics, views and subscribers take care of themselves.

“It’s not that you have a views and subscriber problem, you actually have an ideas and analytics problem.” - Liz Germain
